Burkina Faso's leader faced the greatest threat to his rule in nearly three decades Thursday, prompting a state of emergency and the dissolution of parliament after violent protests erupted over a proposal to prolong his time in power.
Protesters stormed the parliament and set part of it ablaze earlier in a day of violence around the country that left at least one person dead and several others were wounded. A curfew was put in place from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. (AP)
